Help for Landslide victims

Almost every year Nepal suffers from very big landslides and flood disasters which have killed many people in the past and made losses worth billions of rupees in our country, where the present economy is so challenging.
Joy Foundation Nepal in co-operation with other organizations has been providing money as well as food and clothes for people in the landslide affected areas to help them to maintain their basic needs.

JOY to READ

JOY to READ is a project to support village communities to set up libraries. Since JOY is working in education and social development, it has the vision to provide people with the necessary equipment to learn and study. Therefore JOY is collecting books on several subjects that are send to community libraries in remote areas. Reading is not just a luxury. it is a way to find education and open new perspectives. Every child should have access to knowledge. Every support is needed and will be taken with great gratitude.

Environmental projects

JOY is running two sanitation/cleaning projects per year. In Swayambhu and Pharping Volunteers are coming together to help cleaning the environment and bringing more awareness to the people in this area to keep their surrounding clean. This should be an example to many others to help being more responsible to their environment and to support better sanitation. Being careless with the environment promotes more abuse. JOY wishes to support the protection of the environment by giving little examples on how everybody can help in daily life. This also promotes health awareness, since good and clean sanitation prevents from getting diseases.

Income Generating Projects

In order to support Organizations and Communities JOY has started to help Income Generating Projects. Right now JOY is supporting a Stationary Shop that should enable one organization to run independently their  day care centre for disabled children and youth in Kathmandu. JOY is furthermore intending to expand such programs to help different organizations as well as communities to be selfsufficient and long lasting without depending on someone else.
